Exceptionally talented and highly esteemed Scottish woman artist born in Glasgow in 1925.

Living to age 94, Florence died near Inverness in 2019 and leaves a wide-ranging legacy of work created across 60 years. The collection is currently being catalogued by her daughter and will soon be available for viewing and sales.

Florence had no formal art training, yet she achieved top professional recognition for her work, becoming a member of the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA) and Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW).

She exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, the RSW, SSA and the Glasgow Institute.

In 2014 she was one of four remaining living artists chosen for the prestigious ‘Glasgow Girls’ Kirkcudbright exhibition.

She received the Royal Scottish Academy Award and the Royal Glasgow Institute Torrance Award.

Florence is represented in various public collections including:
